# Merge

**Merge** is a way to combine two identical Folks into a stronger one. This feature allows you to increase a Folk's stats and level

## Requirements for Merge

To merge two Folks, the following conditions must be met:

* **Two identical Folks:** For example, two Abraxas. Their levels can be different
* **Affinity:** Each Folk must have enough affinity (their progress bar must be fully filled)
* **Mystical Orb:** Your wallet must contain at least one NFT from the Mystical Orb collection — it will be burned during the merge

## How to Merge?

1. Go to **Folks** → **Collection**
2. Select the Folk you want to upgrade
3. Click the **Merge** button
4. Select the second Folk (this NFT will be burned)
5. Make sure all conditions are met and confirm the action

After merging:

* The first selected Folk will return to you and keep its number
* The second Folk and Mystical Orb will be sent to the Purgatory wallet and periodically burned
  {% endhint %}

## What Changes After a Merge?

**All stats (except Luck)** of the new Folk are increased using this formula:

```
(Folk 1 Stat + Folk 2 Stat) / 2 × Growth Factor + Luck Bonus
```

* **Levels are added:** For example, merging a level 2 and a level 3 Folk will result in a level 5 Folk
* **Spells:** The new Folk inherits the strongest damage spells from both merged Folks — but no more than 4 in total
* **Affinity:** Each Folk loses the required amount of affinity for merging (depends on level). The remaining points are combined and passed to the new Folk

## Growth Factor

**Growth Factor** determines how much the stats of a Folk grow during a merge

### What Affects Growth Factor?

Each Folk has its own Growth Factor, based on two main things:

* **Edition Rarity:**
  * The fewer NFTs in the edition, the higher the Growth Factor
  * **Example:**
    * Zaratan Edition 1 (100 NFTs) → Growth Factor = **4%**
    * Zaratan Edition 2 (1,500 NFTs) → Growth Factor = **2.5%**
* **Specific Folk:**
  * Even within the same edition, different Folks may have different Growth Factors
  * This keeps the game balanced — if a Folk is easier to upgrade, its Growth Factor will be lower
  * **Example:**
    * Phyton Edition 1 (50 NFTs) → Growth Factor = **6%**
    * Yurei Edition 1 (110 NFTs) → Growth Factor = **4%**

## Luck Bonus Range

**Luck Bonus Range** is the range of a random stat bonus a Folk receives during merging

### What Affects the Bonus?

The bonus is directly based on the Folk’s **Luck** stat:

> **Luck Bonus = 2–5% of Luck stat**

The higher the Luck, the greater the possible random stat increase during the merge
