# Mystical Orbs

## What are Mystical Orbs?

**Mystical Orbs** is a utility NFT with a unique feature: to unlock its full benefits, it must be burned. Unlike other utility NFT collections, which grant bonuses simply through ownership, Orbs require this additional action, making their use a deliberate choice. Orbs also play a key role in leveling up Folks

The number of Orbs in the game depends on the total number of players: the more new participants join FOLK, the more Orbs appear in the world. If the flow of new players slows, the frequency of Orb drops will also decrease

## What can you unlock by burning one Mystical Orb?

1. **Summoning Access**\
   To begin summoning Folks, you’ll need to burn one Orb to unlock this feature. Don’t worry, this is a one-time action — once it’s activated, Orbs won’t be required for future summons, only artifacts and points. In this way, an Orb serves as a “key” granting access to summoning
2. **Eggs Auto-Merge**\
   Burning an Orb also activates an auto-merge feature for eggs, simplifying the merging process. It saves time by automatically producing the desired egg level without manual effort

## **Folk Merge**

Mystical Orbs are a required resource for [merging ](/folk/basics/merge.md)two Folks. One Orb is burned during the merge process, making them a key component for evolving and strengthening your collection

## Where Can You Get an Mystical Orbs?

Link your wallet to your in-game account before beginning the Orb hunt — without this step, the Orb cannot be delivered to you

1. **Egg Hatching**\
   Orbs drop randomly from eggs, and the chance of obtaining one remains constant with each egg hatched. Each egg is a new chance to receive an Orb, though prior attempts do not increase your odds
2. **Secondary Market**\
   If luck hasn’t been on your side yet, you can buy an Orb from other players on the NFT marketplace
